“Don’t just get involved. Fight for your seat at the table. Better yet, fight for a seat at the head of the table.”

– Barack Obama

Editor’s Note, October 2018

We are proud and honored to launch the inaugural issue of our new publication – Smart Water & Waste World (SWWW). It has been nearly sixteen months in the making. And it was a natural outgrowth of the expansion of the new brand of publication and events which we created for the Water Sector in the past one year. We sought to walk on a path less-traveled and, therefore, we got immense support from all quarters…governments, water experts, industrial users, technology vendors, contractors, researchers, consultants, technocrats, municipal professionals, and policy-makers.

The editorial policy of SWWW will be guided by the high standards of content quality and integrity, professional responsibility, industry awareness, and staying neutral to all stakeholders that constitute the global water sector. SWWW would be at the forefront to consistently highlight the issues crucial for the water industry.

To become the most trusted source of information and help you make informed buying decisions, we will come up with the right blend of project news, products, market trends, and analysis. We will address a wide range of issues in diverse disciplines of water & wastewater from across the globe, and most importantly India.

This inaugural issue of SWWW is a special collector’s edition of top-20 case studies on “Industrial Water & Wastewater Management”.

This issue offers the water professionals and industrial users a unique mix of case studies where each contributor has presented its technology/product/study and its applications in a practical and real industrial environment with in-depth analysis, discussion, and assessment of their projects in various industry segments.

I would like to thank the contributing organizations of these top-20 special case studies selected from an overwhelming 100 entries: Borouge, CST, Danfoss, Emerson, GEA, GKD, Grundfos, Unilever, Hydro International, KSB, Mantech, Mueller, Natural Solutions, Ozo Nano, P&G, Qua, Rochem, Suez, UEM India, and Waterneer.

We have shortlisted these case studies based on their applications, relevance, location, product/ technology involved, and the end-user industry segment which they represent. Some of the prominent industry segments which these case studies cover are Power, Energy, Food, Beverages, Electricals, Petrochemical, Mining & Mineral, Water, Waste & Environment, Dairy, Breweries, Hotels, Consumer Goods, Textiles, Automobiles, and CETPs (Common Effluent Treatment Plants) for Industrial Clusters and Port Areas.
